About This Dog for Adoption

Layla's ideal home

Layla is approximately 4 to 6 years old although we know she looks a little bit older than this. She can be a shy and worried girl and will need a calm, patient adopter who is happy to let her build trust at her own pace and commit to visiting her regularly here at the centre before going home. Layla would suit an adult-only home with minimal visitors, where routines are predictable and her world feels safe. Meeting new people worries Layla but once she knows you she shows her silly goofy side and is totally unaware of her size trying to squeeze on a comfy lap for snuggles. Layla enjoys playing with toys and responds well to training, especially if tasty treats are involved. She can be left alone, but this should be introduced slowly and thoughtfully. Layla has come to us as a stray and will need her new family to be around all the time to begin with, to help her learn to trust and feel safe in her forever home.

Could you be Layla's perfect match?

When out on walks, Layla can be intense around other dogs and will benefit from experienced owners and regular, carefully chosen walking buddies to help her continue her socialisation. She must be the only pet in the home and cannot live with cats, dogs, small furries, or children. Layla will love her access to a garden to relax and play with her favourite toys. In the right environment, with understanding and commitment, Layla will relax and show her true, loyal nature to someone willing to give her the time and space she needs.
