About This Dog

Cupcake's ideal home

Cupcake is a 3-month-old Mastiff X currently living in foster care, where she has been slowly building her confidence and learning that the world is not such a scary place. When she first arrived, Cupcake was unsure about exploring her foster home, but with patience and reassurance she has started to venture around both the house and garden with growing curiosity. She can be nervous of new people and unfamiliar situations, so she will need a calm and understanding family who are happy to let her approach things in her own time. Cupcake takes great comfort from having trusted humans nearby and is beginning to enjoy exploring the outside world when supported by people she knows. She is very good with handling, loves fuss and cuddles, and is already showing what an affectionate and loving large puppy she is. She also enjoys her food and is beginning to discover the fun of toys and playtime.

Could you be Cupcake's perfect match?

Cupcake can still be unsure of visitors coming into the home and needs space to decide when she feels comfortable approaching. Her foster carers are currently working on positive training around this, and her new family will need to continue building on that progress. She could happily live with another calm and gentle dog who may help her confidence continue to grow, although she would also be content as an only dog with the right support from her humans. Due to her nervousness around unfamiliar people, Cupcake is looking for a home with secondary school aged children or older who can give her the space she needs to settle. Any potential adopters should also be prepared to make multiple visits to the centre so Cupcake can get to know them gradually and build trust. With time, patience, and reassurance, Cupcake will blossom into an incredibly loyal and affectionate companion and will make a wonderful addition to a family committed to helping her thrive.
