About This Dog for Adoption

Guinness's ideal home

Guinness can live with children of high school age but presently not other dogs. We have no history for him and cannot guarantee that he is house trained or used to spending time alone.

Could you be Guinness's perfect match?

Guinness is a happy and sometimes boisterous lad who arrived in our care recovering from a fractured hip. He's definitely on the road to recovery but this means we haven't yet been able to try him off lead with other dogs as we've had to limit his exercise a little. He seems friendly towards others and has enjoyed walking with different types and he gets quite giddy and playful. He walks nicely on his lead but he will pull if there's something to get to that's more exciting than you! Guinness is a very affectionate boy who readily introduces himself to new people and likes to be stroked. He goes from from 0-60mph in a matter of milliseconds so watch out! He's settled well in to life t the centre and eats well and likes to play with squeaky and tuggy toys.

Dinks's ideal home Dinks would do best in a home where he will be the only dog, but he is coming on leaps and bounds with his confidence around them, so a home that can continue his sociability out and about would be great for him! It isn’t essential for Dinks to have access to a garden as long as his exercise needs can be met. Dinks would be best suited to a home where any

Mastiff Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Mastiff.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Mastiff Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
