About This Dog
About JohnnyJohnny is a large, gentle-natured, and affectionate dog who absolutely adores people. He wants nothing more than to be near you—whether that’s curled up beside you on the sofa or quietly keeping you company around the house. He’s calm indoors, playful without being boisterous, and incredibly people-focused.
He’s lived peacefully with another dog at my partner’s home and gets along well with dogs when introduced properly, but ideally, he’d thrive as the only pet. He isn’t suitable for homes with small children—not because of any behavioural concerns, but simply due to his size. He’s very sweet-natured, but could unintentionally knock over a toddler.
Johnny sleeps on the sofa at night and uses a crate when I’m out for longer periods. He can be left alone for a couple of hours uncrated, but after that, he really needs structure, stimulation, and company—things I can no longer consistently give him.
What Johnny Needs
A secure garden (this is essential)
Someone who’s home more often and has the time and energy to give him attention and love.
Ideally no other pets, though he can coexist with other dogs
No small children, due to his size
Someone confident and experienced with larger breeds
Why I’m Rehoming Him
The truth is, I’m overwhelmed. Over the past year, my life has changed completely: my son has come to live with me full-time, I’ve started a demanding new job that keeps me out of the house up to six days a week, and I now live in a small flat with no garden. I’m doing everything alone—and I’m completely burnt out.
Johnny needs and deserves so much more than I can give him. He needs regular access to a secure outdoor space, more time with someone who can be present, and the kind of consistent companionship that every dog deserves. I’ve done my absolute best to make it work, but I’m running on empty—and it’s no longer fair on him.
I love this dog very much so people will be vetted before I let him go.
so only serious people looking for a life companion please.
