About This Dog

Doug's ideal home

Doug is a 2 year old Mastiff cross with a heart as big as he is! He is a fun, affectionate boy who loves following his nose, so he can pull on the lead when something interesting catches his attention, and he can also be bouncy when excited. Doug enjoys a good play, especially with soft toys! He can find some handling, such as bathing, little overwhelming, so he will need patient, positive support while he learns that these things aren't so scary. Because of his size and enthusiasm, Doug would suit a home with children around lower secondary school age or older, who can enjoy his playful side while recognising when he needs a break. We don't know much about Doug's life before he came into our care, so his new family will need to help him learn the basics, including housetraining and being left alone gradually. Doug is still being assessed around other dogs, so for now he is looking for a home as the only pet.

Could you be Doug's perfect match?

If you’re looking for a big, goofy, lovable companion with plenty of personality, Doug could be just the boy for you!
